NEW GLASGOW – James “Jim” “Buddy” Cameron. It is with great sadness that his family announce his passing at the age of 80 on the morning of May 16th while in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow.
Born on December 3, 1935 in Inverness, he was a son of the late Allister and Evelyn (Proudfoot) Cameron.

He later served on the Employment Insurance Appeal Board, the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission and the New Glasgow and District Labour Council.
Jim was an active member of the New Democratic Party for many years. He was fortunate to have had loyal friends and treasured his friendships with Jim Crockett, Phalen Cotter, Gerald Savoy, cousin Brent Cameron and his travelling companion, Stewart MacDonald. The Cameron family wish to thank Dr. Aulayne Jeans, Dr. Gerry Farrell and the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care nursing team, and Pictou County Victorian Order of Nurses. Special thanks to Jim’s sister-in-law, Yvonne MacIsaac, who moved in with the family to support them during this difficult time.
Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
