CORMIER, CATHERINE
1928 – 2016
RICHIBUCTO, NB - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Catherine Cormier 88, of Richibucto at the Stella-Marie-De-Kent Hospital on the 17th of May, 2016. Born in St-Charles, she was the daughter of the late Patrice and Mélanie (Daigle) Blanchard.
Our mother was a devout Christian who tremendously enjoyed her flowers and gardens. She wrote: “Money and treasures I have none, my richness are my children.”
She will be sadly missed by her children and family; four sons, Roger (Pauline) of Listuguj, Québec, Victor of Richibucto, Gilbert and Lionel both of Cap St Louis, four daughters, Jeannita Stewart (Stan) of Richibucto, Célianne (Kenny Hudson) of Mundleville, Nicole Barnes (Keith) of Bass River, Marguerite Guitard (René) of Ottawa, Ontario. One brother Albert Blanchard (late Annette) of Dieppe, four sisters, Yvonne Legacé (late George) and Marianne Leblanc (late Adelin) both of St John, Roseline Guimond (Tim) of Richibucto and Adélia Richard (Laurie) of St Charles, 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Eddie (1992), infant son Norman, granddaughter Julia, five brothers, Théodore, Lionel, René, Norbert and Gaspard; two sisters, Léola and Lucille.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto on Friday 7 to 9 pm, Saturday 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto. Interment will be in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
