It is with heart felt sadness that we the family announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Mary ‘Mae’ Spearing on May 14, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital with loving family at her side.
Born in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late James and Maria (Burke) Clarke.

Besides her parents, Mae was predeceased by husband John, son George, daughter-in-law Joan, son-in-law Al, sisters, Lizzy and Melina, brothers Willy, Pal and James.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m. in the Glace Bay Salvation Army Citadel with Lieutenants Dennis and Mary Maybury, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Salvation Army of Glace Bay.
