With sad hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Heather Pankovich on May 17, 2016, while at home in Edmonton, AB. Formerly of St. John's, NL, she is predeceased by her parents Edward and Carmel (Ryan) Thornhill. Left with many wonderful memories are her husband, Jim Pankovich; sister, Pamela Snow (David) and their beloved children Malcolm and Heidi; parents-in-law, Mike and Reta Pankovich; sister-in-law, Janice Pankovich (Arnold Lemke); brothers-in-law, Daniel Pankovich and Michael Pankovich (Julie-Ann) and their beloved children Reegan, Jacey and Holly; her dear uncle, Charles Young and his daughter, Katherine Barclay (Clayton); Ryan Family cousins, and extended family and friends. Heather was a beautiful person with a beaming smile. She lived each and every day to the fullest. She worked passionately at the Alberta Heart Transplant Centre for many years. Her unwavering support for the Edmonton Junior Football Fundraising Campaign was remarkable. She had a quest for travel and was ready for any adventure that came her way. Her greatest and most treasured joys were her family and her home. Many thanks to the numerous dedicated health care professionals that provided exemplary care to Heather over the years. Drs. Michael Chan and Edmond Ryan, your kindness will never be forgotten. Visitation will take place Monday, May 23, 2016, 3:00-4:30 pm, and Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 1:00-2:30 pm at Connelly-McKinley Ltd. 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. Funeral service will be held at Connelly-McKinley Ltd. 10011-114 Street on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 3:00 pm. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Heather's memory may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or Gower Street United Church Organ Restoration Fund, St. John's, NL.
