Stoddard, Winona “Noni” Louise
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Winona “Noni” Louise (Cole) Stoddard, 84, of Saint John, NB and formerly of Grand Bay – Westfield, NB on May 23, 2016 at her home. Born on October 9, 1931 in Jacksontown, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hedley and Ethel (Greer) Cole, and the wife of the late H. Eugene Stoddard.
Noni was an incredible woman who gave her heart and soul to her daughters and their families, and her girls were truly blessed to have such a lovely lady as their mom. Noni and Gene found their piece of heaven in Woodstock, where she summered until last year with the support of family and many wonderful friends. She was an avid card player, and a huge fan of The Bold and the Beautiful. Noni loved travelling, and treasured her two trips across Canada and the US with Gene. In recent times, she went to Florida and Las Vegas, and took a once in a lifetime trip to Europe.
Noni will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of her daughters, Celine Steeves (Paul), Deborah Ricketts (Mark), Kimberly Anderson (Mark) and Cathy Belding (William); grandchildren, Rachel Hogg (Christopher), Andrew Ricketts (Katelyn), Michael Anderson (Gabrielle Boutilier), Stephen Ricketts, Jessica Steeves, twins: Sarah and Megan Steeves, Samantha Ricketts and Laura Steeves; great grandchildren, Jacob Ryan, Joshua Dylan and Riley Elizabeth Hogg and Avery Matthew Anderson; sisters, Juanita Pollock and Linda Lister (Murray); son-in-law, Michael Likely; brother-in-law, Gregory Morton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Noni was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Brenda Likely; two precious grandsons, Timothy Likely and Matthew Anderson; brother, Murray Cole; and a sister, Elaine Morton.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. A service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm. A private interment will take place at a later date. Special thanks to the New Brunswick Extra Mural Program (Saint John Unit) for their wonderful care and support. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Extra Mural Program or a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
