Schuett, Eleanor
Eleanor Veronica Schuett (nee Winterlik) of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the age of 101. She was born on the family farm south of Dysart, SK on April 24, 1915 to Frank and Mary (Polasek) Winterlik. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Bert in 2007 as well as 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Gary (Margaret), Garth (Brenda), Lorne (Linda), Noreen (Don), and John, as well as 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Eleanor and Bert were married in 1941 and after beginning their married life in Truax, SK, the growing family moved to Wynyard, SK in 1949, then to Moose Jaw, SK in 1958. Eleanor embraced the role of stay-at-home Mom. Cooking, baking, canning, sewing, gardening and general homemaking tasks filled her time at home. Volunteer work, especially with the Church, the CWL and numerous other auxiliary groups were her main interests outside the home. She also enjoyed many years with Bert at the cottage at Buffalo Pound Lake. Her final years were spent at Chez Nous Seniors Home and Providence Place Care Home in Moose Jaw. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. NW, Moose Jaw, SK, with Father Rick Krofchek officiating.
