Ernest  MacEachern

Who passed away peacefully at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home on May 27, 2016, at the age of 85. Born in Mount Stewart, PEI, son of the late Ernest Sr. and Annie (O’Hanley) MacEachern.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Annette; former wife, Florence McInnis.
He was the beloved father of sons Michael, Gary, Gerard (MJ) all of Moncton, Paul (Carolyn) of Calgary, Alberta, Greg (Cherie) of Port Stanley, Ontario; daughters Janice (Murray Steeves), Maureen (Brian Babineau), Denise (Craig Hutchings) of Moncton and Carlene (late Maurice Bourgeois) of Mississauga, Ontario. Ernest will also be sadly missed by his stepsons, Pierre LeBlanc of Corner Brook, NL, and Jacques LeBlanc of Dieppe; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, John (Georgie) of Mermaid, PEI,  David (Arlene) of Edmonton, Alberta; sisters, Fran (late Herbie) Handrahan of Charlottetown, PEI, Anne Cassidy of Florida, Sharon (Blair) McCormac of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was predeceased by brother Gordon; sisters, Eileen Devine, Peg Traynor, and Carlene Gaite.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Room. Interment will be at Fair Haven Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and administration at the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home for their care and support. Sargeant Ernest MacEachern  served in the military for over 31 years: he was posted overseas as a Peacekeeper and  served across Canada as a Supply and Equipment Officer. After his official Military retirement, he worked as a civil servant base housing officer at the No. 5 supply depot, Moncton, NB. Ernie is remembered for his sense of humour and wit. After retirement he enjoyed golf, card games, dancing with Charlie’s Angels Round Dance Club and square dance clubs, mainly Hobans Heroes.
