It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bertram John Hillier the last WW II Veteran of Cormack whom resided in Cormack, NL, announces his passing on Monday, May 30th, 2016, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with fond & loving memories his children; Edwin (Gwen), Freeman (Judy), Melvina (Gerard), Bert Jr (Doris), Derek (Dawn), Tom, Brenda (John), & Aubrey (Teena), his 18 grandchildren, & 33 great grandchildren, his special friend Annie Gillard, sister-in-law; Irene Hillier. Bert was predeceased by his wife; Mary, his parents; Selina & Charles, his mother & father-in-law; Dinah & Tom Cornish, his siblings; Charles, Tom (Margaret) George (Etta), Edgar, Freeman, Effie, & Irene. The family will be receiving family & friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL., on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016, from the hours of 7-9 pm, & continuing on Wednesday, June 1st, 2106, from The St. George's Anglican Church in Cormack, NL., from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the Funeral service will take place from on Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 at 2 pm, with Rev. Steve Maki officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the church cemetery, in Cormack, NL.
