Douglas Roberts, 98, of Moncton Residence and formerly of First Ave., passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016. Born in Brown’s Yard, he was the son of the late William and Sarena (Beaver) Roberts. He was a retired Foreman with the City of Moncton and attended The Wesleyan Church. Doug was a Veteran of WW II, having served overseas.
Doug will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Doug, Kim, Tammy, Carolyn and Patrick and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Cooper) Roberts (February 2013); son, Ernest; sisters, Constance and Gladys; brothers, Presley and Lambert.
A special thank you to Coach, Rhonda and Sandy for their friendship over the years and to the Staff of the Moncton Residence for the care and compassion shown to Doug during his stay.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Moncton Legion Branch # 6 Memorial Service at Fergusons Funeral Home on Monday at 1:20 pm. A Service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 1:30 pm with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery.
