With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Dad, age 84, on June 1, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
He was a commercial fisherman, whose life was devoted to providing for mom and us kids. He loved nothing more then being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Agnes; son, Tom; daughter, Judy (James); daughter-in-law, Laura; grandchildren, Trevor, Kelly (Andy), Amber (Nate), Elizabeth (Tyler) and Adam; great-grandchildren, Madison, Bryce, Lydia, Audrey; brother, Victor; sisters, Inez, Mini (Harvey), Audrey (Billy); numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his four legged pets, Dixie and Sparky.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, William; son-in-law, Bruce; son-in-law, Pat; sisters, Faye and Jean.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A celebration of life will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
