PERRIN, PERCY ANDREW
Absent from the body – present with the Lord. At Bobby’s Hospice, Percy Andrew Perrin entered into rest with his Lord and Saviour on June 3, 2016. He was born in the family homestead on the Queens Ridge Road, Clarendon, the son of the late Royden and Estella (Muir) Perrin.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 62 years, Patricia (Titus) Perrin. He was a loving father to daughter, Linda Garwood of Fredericton, sons Andrew “Andy” (Lisa) of Riverview and Ward of Vancouver. He was the much loved grampie to Adam Garwood (Chikako) of Tokyo, Angela Garwood–Touw (Andrew) of Timmins, ON, Erin Price (Aaron) of Marysville and Andrew Perrin of Fredericton. He will be missed by his great grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Price and Nicole Garwood; and his sister, Lorna Wallace (Reuben).

Percy was predeceased by an infant son, Jeffrey Perrin; great grandson, Cameron Price; and siblings, Nelson, Glen, Donald, Irven, Grace, Pearl and Doris.

Percy had a varied work life, ending with his retirement from the Town of Grand Bay in 1994. He had also worked for G.E. Barbour Company for 15 years, and Westfield Express, which he owned and operated with Pat for several years. He had a wonderful work ethic which he passed on to his children.In September of 1986 Percy became a member of the Men of Fundy Barber Shoppers, a hobby which he enjoyed for 28 years. He and Pat enjoyed travelling with the chorus to competitions and especially their trip to Holland.

Percy loved to travel, and accompanied Pat on many trips as she conducted tours for Aquila Tours. Among his favourites were a trip to Swaziland with a team to build a church, a trip with Pat to Hawaii, where he had the privilege of visiting Pearl Harbour, as well as trips to Barbados, Bermuda and all across Canada. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, reading and music of all genres.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to those who gave their compassionate care to Percy. To Laura from Bay Shore Home Care for her care of Percy since February 24th. Her visits became something he looked forward to every day; To Sue and Eileen from Extra Mural for the excellent care they provided; To Michael and Susan Wallace for the many visits at the hospital and Bobby’s Hospice; To Dr. Chris O’Brien, Dr. Jessica Guimond–Hemmings, Dr. Julia Wildish, Dr. Winston Lee, Dr. David Bewick, the staff of Palliative Care at the Regional Hospital and to all the wonderful nurses, especially Jane Boyd–Aucoin, caregivers and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice. You were all our “Earth Angels” and you made this journey with us in love. Your kindness is so appreciated and will never be forgotten. To our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Malcolm Beckett, special thanks from the entire family. And to Wayne, for being a source of strength and love. Since moving to Hillcrest Village in March of 2015, Percy and Pat felt the love shown by all the residents there. Special thanks for all the treats and visits.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634–7424) with visiting on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held from Grand Bay Baptist Church, 77 Woolastook Drive, Grand Bay–Westfield, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
