Mabel Euphamia Bruce of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016 at the age of 84. A private family memorial service is being held at a later date. Mabel is survived by sisters Shiela Pilgrim (Swift Current), Marg Permann (Calgary), and brothers Gord Bruce (Calgary) and Glenn (Terry) Bruce (Calgary). Also by nieces Val MacLean, Lori McGillivray, Rae Bell, Suzanne Bruce, and nephews, Cam Bruce, Michael Bruce, and Bill Bruce Jr. She was predeceased by parents William and Jean Bruce, brother Bill Bruce, sister Jean Wah, Bill and Bruce Wah, Wilf Permann, Don Pilgrim, and Georgie Bruce. Mabel enjoyed a 38 year career as an administrative assistant with the RCMP. As a young woman, she was the coordinator of the Boys & Girls Club, and taught gymnastics and baseball. After retiring, she became a member of the "Gallery Group," assisting at the Art Gallery and Library. Mabel was an enthusiastic volunteer, and kept busy at the SPCA bookstore and canvassing door to door. She loved to walk, was an avid reader and always had a book on the go.
