Following the joy of welcoming her first granddaughter into this world, Shirley Ann Theresa (Power) Marrie donned her angel wings, left her earthly home and is now singing with the heavenly choirs. Shirley, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend leaves to mourn, her loving husband of 44 years Cecil, son Shane (Angela), daughter Cecile (David), her precious granddaughter Victoria and her special grandsons: Jon, Alex and Carter, brothers and sisters: Heather (Gus), Doreen (Dick), Patti (Larry), Dave (Theresa), Frank (Suzanne) and Marion, sisters-in-law: Francie and Donna and brothers-in-law: Paddy (Erika), Bert and Kevin, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews who have always held a special place in her heart. As many may know, Shirley valiantly fought her battle with Dementia, never losing her smile, spirit or zest for life and despite her failing health continued to be the bright shining star that she had been for so many people, for so many years. In light of this, the family would like to extend a sincere "Thank You" to all those that helped to make her life more comfortable during this time. She continued to enjoy her walks, sing along's, spa days and other special moments thanks to her friends: Bertha, Linda and Mary who made sure she was well cared for on a daily basis. A special thank you to Heather, Patti, Doreen and the rest of the immediate family whose love and caring helped Shirley and her family throughout this journey. To her cousins Bruce and Augusta for their frequent visits that always brought a smile to her face and to Father Steve for his visits and for ensuring the Lord was always by her side. Shirley touched numerous people in so many ways, that we would also like to take a moment to thank all her close friends who spent time with her for movie nights, choir sessions and various other events that she loved to partake in during her time with us. On earth, many have been captivated by your amazing voice, may your talents be set free so that the angels above can have the pleasure of hearing what so many of us have enjoyed for all these years.
