PETER FESCHUK, late of Meath Park
It is with deep sadness that family announce the peaceful passing of Peter Feschuk at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert, SK on June 7, 2016 at the age of 87. Peter was born on October 24, 1928 to Sophie (nee Kuch) and Dan Feschuk in Meath Park, SK. This is where he received his elementary and high school education. Upon graduation in 1948, he enrolled in Normal School at Saskatoon and after 3 months received a 24T teaching certificate and began teaching that October at Strong Pine. He continued to enrol in classes at Normal School and later university classes by correspondence to achieve a permanent teaching certificate. Peter also farmed with his dad and later bought two quarters of land north of Meath Park, some equipment, and started farming in 1962. Teaching and farming were his passion and then after years of searching for his perfect partner, he married Marie Pawlyshyn in 1964. Together they worked on the farm and raised three daughters. Peter had a strong sense of community, volunteering on countless committees. In 1983, he retired after 35 years of teaching and continued to farm. Dido loved taking his grandchildren to visit the farm, as they were always excited to see the many animals. In 2008, he started to enjoy “true retirement” after the remaining head of cattle were gone. He lived in his home with Marie enjoying time with family and friends until March, 2016 when his health deteriorated, spending time in Victoria Hospital and Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert. The family would like to thank the staff at both facilities for their compassionate care. Left to cherish Peter’s memory, his wife of 51 years, Marie; three daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Philipchuk, Karen (Randy) Wiens, Diane (Alan) Jones; seven grandchildren Jaydon and Nicole Philipchuk, Meaghan, Alecia, and Joshua Wiens, Mark and Hannah Jones; his siblings Anne (Roy) Semchuk, Walter (Carol) Feschuk, Stella Borysiuk, Olga Wojciechowski, and Sylvia (John) Ewanchyna; sister-in-law Adele (Lawrence) Racicot; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Peter was predeceased by his parents Dan and Sophie Feschuk; brother Jerry Feschuk; brothers-in-law Henry Borysiuk and Stan Wojciechowski; father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Lena Pawlyshyn. The prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at River Park Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church with The Very Reverend Archpriest Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment will be at South Hill Cemetery following the funeral service. Peter’s memory will be cherished and kept close to the hearts of all. May God grant him eternal rest. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victoria Hospital Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, SK 306-764-2727 Colette Harnett, Funeral Director
