Charles LeBlanc

LEBLANC, CHARLES
After a battle with cancer that would make “The Godfather” proud, Charlie gave his last punchline on June 10th, 2016 at the age of 63 in his home with his family by his side singing “soft kitty”.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Claudette. She was his high school sweetheart, the love of his life and his soul mate. His proudest accomplishments are his sons Chris (Stacey) and Serge (Sophie), as well as his precious grandson Isaac. It is important to Charlie that his grandson Isaac grows up knowing, that even though their time together was cut too short, Pepere LeBlanc was extremely proud and loved every minute with him. Also, he would not want us to forget his dog Brian, his granddogs: Kayden, Kaylee and Floyd, as well as his grandcat Ruka. He is also survived by his five sisters: Carmelle Caissie (Maurice Brine), Jacqueline Bourque (Bernard), Pauline Levesque (Remi), Nancy MacDonald (Roddie), and Marise Cormier (Guy). Charlie was also loved by his Hebert family (in–laws): Ronald (Claire), Dorice, Roger (Denise), and Marc (Tanya). He enjoyed and cared for his many nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by Sebastien and Veronique who had the privilege of his time, his humour and his devotion. He always referred to them as his grandkids.

He has been reunited with his parents Herve V. Leblanc and Leona Albert and his sister Denise. He is also sharing a good laugh with his in–laws: Albert (Bute) and Maria Hébert and giving a hug and kiss to his beloved family pets Teddy, Emily, and Chico.

Charlie was loved and admired by all who were lucky enough to know him. He was a very talented “Jack of all Trades” who was always available to lend a hand to anyone in need. His integrity, dignity, kindness, sense of humour and intelligence made him a success at everything he did. Of all his notable accomplishments however, the one that gave him his greatest pride, and deepest joy, was his devoted family. As Don Corleone said in the Godfather "A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man."

Charlie’s employment history was in construction, from completing detailed finish work to building very large structures. He owned his own construction business and worked for major construction companies.

Charlie is remembered for his passion for movies, books, antique toys, model cranes, good naps, blues music, cigars, working in his garage, snacking on M&Ms and popcorn, and enjoying his wife’s amazing gourmet cooking.

His gift was storytelling and making people laugh. The vibrancy, joy and humour of his stories, jokes and memories were truly astounding to us all, especially his adventures to the moon. They don’t make ‘em like you anymore Charlie.

His regrets were few but include not having enough cornstarch in the house, not training his faithful dog Brian to detect cancer, and that no video evidence exists of his mad skills in construction or in the bedroom.

In honour of Charlie’s wishes, he will be cremated without a wake or a funeral. The family is thus hosting a get together on Saturday, June 18th at Frenette’s Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858–1900) from 6 pm to 9 pm. Charlie wants to be remembered with love and laughter in the form of a party. Family, friends and acquaintances are invited to stop by and celebrate the life of this great husband, father/father–in–law, grandfather, brother/brother–in–law, uncle, friend and hero.

Due to his love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moncton SPCA.
