It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo Vincent Harvey, former CBC broadcaster and well-known curler, announce his passing at the Health Sciences Center in St. John's on the 6th of June, 2016. Leo was born in Grand Falls on January 14, 1931. He is predeceased by parents: Thomas and Anne Harvey; sisters: Eileen (Bud) Smith, Margaret, Zita (Jack) Byrd and Vera; brothers: Kevin (Anne) and Tom and grandson Ryan. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 60 years Madeline (nee Hill); daughters: Joanne (Jim) Devereaux and Michele (Keith) Renouf; sons: Leo (Vikki), Brian and Paul (Karen); sister Hilary (Joe) Pacheco; brother Neil (Lois); grandchildren: Noelle (Shawn) Thomas-Kennell (great-granddaughter: McKinleigh), Stacie (Justin) Curtis, Kristin Harvey (Kris Penney), Julie Devereaux, and Alysha Renouf (Mark Butt). Also leaving a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on June 8, 2016 and June 9, 2016. A celebration of Leo's life took place following the visitation. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Leo's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
