Petit–RocherIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Guitard, at the age of 70, on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Georges Dumont hospital in Moncton. Born in Belledune, N.B. he was the son of the late Iréné (Len) Guitard and Florenda Goodine (Chateauguay).

Besides his wife and mother, Raymond is survived by his son Wayne (Sophie) of Moncton and his daughter Mélanie (James) also of Moncton; two cherished granddaughters, Alexandra and Amélie. He is also survived by six brothers: Eugene of Montreal, Mike (Nancy) of Toronto, Auzzie, Jesse (Susie), Terry (Bonnie) and Kenny (Paola) all of Montreal; five sisters: Cora (Benny) of Vancouver, Joanne of Ottawa, Maureen, Linda (Richard) and Lorraine (Don) of Montreal, plus numerous nieces, nephews, brothers–in–law and sisters–in–law.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother (Gaston).

Raymond was a retiree of the Brunswick Smelter in Belledune where he worked for over 30 years. Once retired, Raymond started painting artwork as a hobby. He was also a member of the Club de l’Age d’Or in Pointe–Verte.

Visitation will take place at Verret Funeral Home in Nigadoo, on Wednesday, June 15, 2015 from 1pm to 4pm. There will be a service at the funeral home at 2pm.

For those who wish, donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated for either the Extra–Mural Program or the palliative care department.
