Ethel Isabelle LeLacheur (nee Jenkins)

Ethel Isabelle LeLacheur (nee Jenkins) age 85 years, passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on June 12, 2016 after a very rich and full life. Ethel is predeceased by her parents, John Earl and Julia Jenkins, sister Mabel and brother, Lyman. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ralph LeLacheur and sister, Janet Kemp (Cameron). Mother of Carlton MacDonald (Donna Anstey), Deborah Roberts, Anne LeLacheur (Ian MacKenzie), Charles LeLacheur (Bonnie Vessey), Douglas LeLacheur (Kathy Landry), Margaret Wilton (Rick Martijn). Grandmother to Steven, Krystal, Michelle, Katherine, Jeremy, Stephen, Lisa, Tyler, Kyle, Jessica and Jonah and their father, Mark Wilton. Great grandmother to Brinley. Ethel was an incredible supporter of the Vernon River Lions Club and knit hundreds of mittens each year. She also created finger puppets for children at the QEH. Many people benefited from the enormous amount of knitting of afghans for the Women’s Institute that Ethel tirelessly created. She enjoyed many crafts and was also a very accomplished photographer and saw wonderful things in nature. Ethel loved flowers and always said she wanted them when she could enjoy them. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 14, from 6 to 9 pm at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 15 at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in Murray Harbour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to Heart and Stroke foundation.
