LYONS, Jeanette Marie - age 95, of Arcadia, Yarmouth County, passed away on June 11th, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax. Born in Lower West Pubnico on October 12th, 1920, she was a daughter of Existe Mandé D’Entremont and Elizabeth (D’Eon) D’Entremont. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerald J. Lyons, who she met during World War II, in Yarmouth where Gerry was stationed while serving in the RAF. Jeanette crossed the Atlantic during the war to live in England on the understanding that they would return to Yarmouth after the war. They lived in their home in Arcadia since 1952. Jeanette has two sons: David Patrick (Johanna) Lyons of Palm Springs, California, and Brian Gerald (Marilyn) MacKay-Lyons of Upper Kingsburg, Nova Scotia; five grandchildren: Geoffrey (Barbi) Lyons of California, Renée MacKay-Lyons of Toronto, Natalie Lyons of Los Angeles, California, Alison (Nathan) Hughes of Upper Kingsburg, and Matthew MacKay-Lyons of Halifax; and one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Lyons of California. She was predeceased by sisters Lillian Pothier and Fidelis D’Entremont, and by brother, Clarence D’Entremont. Our Mother was always a gentle, graceful, others-oriented woman. A loving mother, whose family was what she valued most. She was passionate about antiques and travelled the world. She will always be in our hearts. A visitation was held 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13th at Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, with prayers at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service took place Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, followed by the burial at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
