HENNESSY, IRMA EILEEN
With sadness and a sense of peace for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Irma Eileen Hennessy (Brophy) of Fredericton, NB which occurred on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 30, 1931 in Howard, NB, she was the daughter of the late Cavan and Loretta (Washburn) Brophy, and was the loving wife of the late Allison Hennessy.

Irma will be remembered for her fun loving and caring ways. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Irma is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hennessy–Adams (Stephen) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Matthew and Alicia Adams; brother, Merl Brophy (Faye) of Upper Blackville, NB; sister-in-law, Maisie Brophy; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Lloyd Brophy (Theresa) and Alvin Brophy.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Church on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.

The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Irma’s caregivers, for their caring and kindness over the years.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
