The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family at 34 Thorndale Avenue, Charlottetown, on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 of Charlie MacQuarrie, husband of the late Minnie Pearl (Rogers) MacQuarrie, formerly of South Rustico, aged 87. Charlie was the beloved father of Harold (Rose), Walter (Carrie) and Artie (Sandra); and grandfather of Lori Ann MacLean, Elaine Duffy (Shaun), Jason MacQuarrie (Lori Dunsford) and Chad Ford; great-grandfather of seventeen and great-great-grandfather of seven. He is also survived by his sisters, Sophie MacLeod, Lorraine Wheatley, Gracie Rogers and Inez Smith (Parker); his brother, Harold (Hilda); sisters-in-law, Verna Matheson (Arnold) and Florence MacQuarrie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Mary Ann (Daye) MacQuarrie; his wife, Minnie Pearl, grandson, Floyd; daughter-in-law, Darlene Ford; great-granddaughter, Courtney; brothers, Raymond, Walter, Chris, Sheldon, and Roland; and sister, Mary Ellen Farrish. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment at Winsloe North Cemetery.
