The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, June 16, 2016, of Maynard F. Schurman, of Summerside, aged 83 years. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Harold and Leila (Saunders) Schurman. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnne “Joey” (Bray) Schurman; children M.F. (Suzie), Delaware; Hal (Marie), Summerside; Todd (Sharon), Summerside; LeeAnn Schurman, Summerside; Carolyn Schurman (Stephan Phelan), Stillwater Lake, NS; by his 10 grandchildren Courtney, Ashley, Taylor, Mackenzie, Lauren, Brea, Bray, Lydia, Sydney and Drew; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother Michael (Pat) Schurman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom (Pat) Richardson, Norma (Art) Semle, Patsy (Paul) Mahoney; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Sally (Laurie) Coles and Paula Richardson. Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Monday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
