Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on June 18th, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. Ron is predeceased by his wife Judy (nee Flight) and parents' Ronald Sr. and Clara (nee Rockwood). Leaving to celebrate his life are his children: Andrea, Peter (Paula), and David; grandchildren Claire, Bailee and their mother, Theressa Gemmell, sisters: Brenda (Trevor) Strange and Debbie; nieces and nephews: Philip (Jen), Tim (Stacey), Sarah, Darryl and Megan (Connor) and their families; sister-in-law Barbara Flight and brother-in-law Boyd Rendell. Also leaving to remember him is a wide circle of family, friends and colleagues whose unwavering friendship has been greatly appreciated by the family. A special thanks to his cousin Grace Quigley and her son Stephen for their devoted care and support over recent years. Ron had a great love of the law and enjoyed his work, especially his time in the courts. He also enjoyed his time playing bridge, fly-fishing and snowmobiling in the company of his close friends and family. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, June 20th from 7pm - 9pm and Tuesday, June 21st from 10am-12noon, 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will take place from St. Thomas' Anglican Church on Wednesday, June 22nd at 2pm, inurnment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's name, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador or the Canadian Cancer Society.
