It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Margie Rossiter announce her unexpected passing on Thursday June 16, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 61. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Esther, her brothers Gerald and Raymond, her sister Regina, and brothers-in-law Bill Dalton and Alessandro Zamolo. Her partner Darlene Costello, nephew Wayne Dalton, nephew-in-law Eddie Hackett, deceased members of the Rossiter and Kavanagh families and her furry family members, especially Molly and Bella. Left to mourn Margie's passing are her sister Anne Zamolo, sister-in-law Genevieve Rossiter, her devoted niece and friend Brenda Hackett, and her other nieces and nephews: Perry Dalton (Wanda), Kevin Dalton (Arlene), Raymond Dalton (Anne Marie), Michelle Jones (Darrell), Colleen Dalton, Neil Dalton (Lesa), Melvin Rossiter (Sandra), Michelle Rossiter (Brian Power ), Mary Rossiter (Christopher Gibson) and Carol Ann Glavine (Sean). Also, her great and great-great nieces and nephews: Kristyn, Nicole, Kathryn, Alyssa, Mark, Meghan, Haley, Kyle, Rachel, Carly, Natalie, Nicholas, Evan, Nielle, Shyanne, Ava and Addyson. Her family away from home, who felt that Margie was a member of their family, dedicated and dear friend Judy Applin-Poole (husband Hank Poole) and "Margie's boys" Bradley and Jeffery Poole, as well as the Applin and Poole families. Her treasured friend of 60 years Dolores Hynes and Dolores' family, as well as her many other friends, who are too numerous to name, from her hometown in Calvert, also where she made her home in Anchor Point on the Northern Peninsula and all other members of the Kavanagh and Rossiter families. Margie will be sadly missed by all her colleagues and friends at Straits of Bell Isle Health Centre and all of her other nursing colleagues and friends. Margie graduated from St Clare's School of Nursing in 1975 and devoted her whole life to nursing. She started nursing at St. Clare's then moved to the Janeway and then practiced private care nursing before finishing her career at Straits of Bell Ilse Health Centre on the Great Northern Peninsula with some short locums in Labrador. She was also involved in the community through volunteering with the seniors home, helping with fundraisers, and she was a strong supporter of many cat rescue groups through donations and through rescuing/adopting cats. The family would like to send a special thank you for the care provided by the ICU staff at Charles Curtis Hospital in St. Anthony, and also to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre, especially 5SA and the doctors and cardiologists who provided Margie with such excellent care. Margie was cremated and will be resting at Ryan's Funeral Home in Bay Bulls on Wednesday June 22 from 2PM - 9PM and there will be a service held in her honour on Thursday June 23 at 10AM, also at Ryan's Funeral Home. Margie will then be brought to her final resting place in Ferryland Cemetery.
