HARRIOTT, DOREEN
Doreen May Harriott of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at home in The Berkeley, Dartmouth. Born February 16, 1928 in Saint John, N.B., she was the oldest daughter of Kenneth and Mary (McIvor) Cosman.

She was a graduate of Saint John High School, the Provincial Normal School of Fredricton, N.B. and St. Mary’s University, Halifax. After a teaching career in New Brunswick, Ontario and Dartmouth, N.S., Doreen retired in 1990. Following retirement, she was a volunteer for the N.S. Lung Association, served on the Board of Metro Non–Profit Housing and contributed her time and talents as a member of Woodlawn United Church, its Session and UCW.

She is survived by her daughter Christine (Bruce) Bosdet of Kamloops, B.C.; grandchildren Geoffrey (Leneigh) Bosdet of Kelowna, Stephen (Cynthia) Bosdet, of Kamloops, B.C., Claire Gahagan of Ottawa, Ont., Benjamin Gahagan of Hamilton, Ont.; great–grandchildren Mira, Leif, Oliver andHayden Bosdet; brother Lawrence of Brampton, Ont., sister Elizabeth of Saint John.

Doreen was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Gahagan in 2001, her husband Alfred Harriott in 2009 and brothers Ken and Jack and sister Faye.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church or N.S. Lung Association.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 23, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. Dartmouth N.S. The funeral service will be held at 11 am in the Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Rd, Dartmouth, N.S. on Friday, June 24, 2016. Rev. Holly Edsall officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church or to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
