Walter "Bud" Herman Reed, age 88, of Swift Current, SK passed away June 14, 2016 at Swift Current. Honorary Pallbearers was his son Stan and all who shared in Bud's life. Bud is survived by his daughter Donna Reed; son Stan (Colleen) Reed of Swift Current; granddaughter Leah (Roy) Berger; grandson Wesley (Rochelle) Reed; great grandchildren Alisha Weber, Damion Weber and Ethan Reed. He was predeceased by his parents George and Edith Reed, wife Thelma Reed, brothers Ernie and Bill; sister, Ann. Bud was born on March 5, 1928 in the Leslie District. He attended school in Leslie and then married Thelma Creamer in Swift Current on October 20, 1953. Bud started working on the home farm when he was old enough. He joined the navy after this. He got a mechanic license and worked for an oil hauling company in Lloydminster. He then got a job with Pipeline Company and following that worked for a road construction company. He then started with Haliburton. Bud then sold real estate and then farmed in the Waldeck area before operating a steam truck in the oilfield after which her retired. Bud loved fishing gardening at his home at the resort village of Beaver Flats. Bud was always ready to tell a story from his early years, as he had many diverse jobs to call from. Bud will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A.
