It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, friend, sister and aunt Linda Mae Shiels on June 20, 2016. The funeral service was held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from First United Church with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The pianist was Joan Williamson, the ushers were Myrna Shiels and Amy Masse and pallbearers were Mike Shiels, Wayne Sletten, Tyson Lang-Burkey, Kelton Lang, Dustin Lang, Torin Shiels and Andrew McNeil. The interment service took place from Memory Gardens Cemetery. Linda was predeceased by her parents Roy and Mae Shiels; sisters Myrna Heard and Mavis Robinson; and brother Alan Shiels. She is survived by her children Tony (Aimee) Lang of Cadillac, SK, and Jennifer Lang (Craig Tangen) of Swift Current, SK; good friend Don Heather of Swift Current; grandchildren Dustin Lang, Kelton Lang, Brooke Lang, and Tyson Lang-Burkey; great grandson Noah Lang; brothers and sisters John, Bob (Darlene), Judy, Alice (Jerry), David (Bonnie) brother-in-law Howard Heard; sister-in-law Helen Nicol; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was born on March 27, 1947 in Cabri, SK to Roy and Mae Shiels. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. She liked gardening and took special delight in her yards at home and the apartment buildings. Linda will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
