Louis Beatty

BEATTY, LOUIS E.
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Louis Edgar Beatty at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 98. He passed peacefully with family present.

Louis was predeceased by his wife Arwilda Beatty, his parents Frederic and Janet Beatty, his brother Frederic Beatty and sister Ruth Beatty.

Louis is survived by his sister–in–law Shirley Patterson and many nieces and nephews.

Louis believed that if you worked hard, played fair, and did the best that you could, you would succeed and be respected. This belief was reflected in his success as a teacher and a golfer. Louis touched the lives of many students over his 40 years as a teacher. He shared his love of mathematics through countless hours in the school room as well as after hour’s tutoring of those struggling with this subject. His goal was to see students succeed.

When not teaching, Louis enjoyed playing golf and his success in this sport was achieved over 60 years. His prowess lead to his induction into the New Brunswick Hall of Fame in 1984 as well as his induction into the Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame in 1995. Louis' golfing ability, love of the game, humble manner and encouragement to all made him one of the greatest golfers in New Brunswick.
