We regret to announce the passing of Hector MacDonald, 61, of Sydney, and formerly of Sydney Mines, on Friday, June 24, 2016, at home.
Born in Sydney Mines on March 13, 1955, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Oakes) MacDonald.
Hector is survived by his sisters Jacqueline (Eric) MacLean and Christina (John) Gracie; brothers Clifford (Mary), and Ricky, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Hector was predeceased by brothers Billy, Mickey and Tony.
The family would like to thank Dr. Coish and the staff at the Northside General Hospital.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Donations in Hector’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Unit.
