FEVENS, M. Josephine —age 96 of Yarmouth passed away on June 26, 2016 at the Meadows Home for Special Care in Yarmouth. Born in Arcadia, Yarmouth County on June 30th, 1919 she was a daughter to the late Gordon and Ethel (Robbins) Trefry. She was a member of Temple United Baptist Church and a Dominion Life Member of the Woman's Missionary Society. Gram was a mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She liked doing puzzles and playing crokinole. She is survived by son, Stuart (Michelle), Wedgeport; daughter, Janet Snook, Edmonton; grandsons, Brian (Jamie), Shaun (Lana), Andrew (Amelia), Jonathan (Miranda) and David; granddaughters, Angelique and Celine and great-grandsons, Cole, Hank and Jared; sisters, Margaret Meister, Mahone Bay and Phyllis Poole, Yarmouth. She was predeceased by husband, Gerald Fevens; and sisters, Muriel Stewart and Marion Clarke. Special thanks to the staff and residents at Vancouver Place where she lived for 2 years until May 2nd, 2016 when she moved to the Meadows. Also a special thanks to the doctor and staff at the Meadows for taking care of Gram during her last days. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by family request. A funeral service was held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Gates officiated. Interment followed in Chegoggin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
