The death of Marjorie Chapman, 88, of Springhill, occurred on Saturday June 25, 2016 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Springhill, Marge was a daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Buck) Chell.
Marge was a member of the Springhill United Church and the Rebekah's Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, as well as the Springhill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Springhill Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Springhill Seniors. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed crafts and spending time at the beach with her family.
Marge will be missed by her son, Richard (Debbie) Dobson, Springhill; daughter, Lynn (Robert) Casey, Salt Springs; five grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsay, Crystal, Trevor, and Danny; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Arthur Dobson and by her second husband, Ronald Chapman; great granddaughter, Brooklyn; brother, Edward; half brothers, William and James, and half sisters, Esther and Emily.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 pm. Interment to follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Rev. Wayne McCarther officiating.
Donations in memory of Marge may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
