MURPHY, Eric Herbert of Ottawa, Ontario passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2016 at Peter D. Clarke L.T.C. Centre in Ottawa on his 55th Wedding Anniversary. Born in Pubnico Head, NS on October 9th, 1928, he was the youngest son of the late James W. and Carrie (Goodwin) Murphy. He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (Blacklock); his children Jim (Karen) and Cheryl (Shawn) both of Ottawa and Heather (Bryan) of NFLD; grandchildren Kathleen, Michelle, Spencer, Connie, Andrew, Hunter; his two sisters Charlena Murphy and Lottie (Stan) NIckerson of Pubnico Head; several nieces and nephews. He was predeased by brothers Cecil "Lawrence", James, Douglas and sisters Isabel and Hope. Eric worked at Mahons Stationary (Halifax) and then Grand and Toy Stationary (Ottawa). He enjoyed curling, daily walks, letters and phone calls from "home". In 2010 he and Dorothy made their last visit "home" to Pubnico Head. A Celebration of life was held June 29th, 2016 in Ottawa.
