Egypt Road - Elva Jean Ravenhill, age 81, of Egypt Road, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Josephine (Mooring) Bugden.
She retired from Revenue Canada in Toronto after 29 years and was a member of the F.S.N.A. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Westville.
She is survived by her husband, Wilson; daughters: Wanda Oosterman, Orangeville, ON; Fern (Ralph) Sweeney, Oshawa, ON; son, Andrew, Sunridge, ON; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters: Bertha MacNeil, New Glasgow; Elizabeth Dale, Oshawa, ON; Muriel (Fred) Myers, Winnipeg, MB; Anna Hughes (Norman Felton), Jackson Point, ON; sisters-in-law: Muriel, Stellarton; Dorothy, Truro; Elaine, Indian Harbour Lake; Kay, Trenton; various nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters: Ada and Verna; brothers: Neil, Alton, Leslie, Danny, Gordon, William, and Scott in infancy.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, with Pastor Ryan King officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County Food Bank.
