With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Simon Arsenault at the age of 62, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Born in Summerside on October 24, 1953, husband of the late Rolande, son of Louise (Gallant) Arsenault, Wellington, and the late Joseph (José) Arsenault. He leaves to mourn his three daughters Christine (Wellington), Rachelle (Charlottetown), Lynn (Seattle, Washington) and two grandchildren Tyson and Chloe. Also his brothers and sister Marcel (Sheila) Summerside, Donald (Bernice) Maximeville, Julien (Fredericton), Eldon (Jeanette) Charlottetown, Elmer (Johanne), Alberta, and Noëlla (Paul Richard), Wellington. Simon is also survived by his father-in-law Agno (Wedgewood Manor), brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marcel (Stella), Wellington; Simonne (Gilles Labonté), Wellington; Ernest (Diane), Wellington; Leo, Wellington; Sam/Nazaire (Eileen), Winnipeg; Rita, Wellington; and Elmer (Wellington). Besides his wife Rolande, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law Laurina Arsenault. He was a member of the Wellington Legion, Wellington Fire Department and past council member of the Village of Wellington. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home in Urbainville until Friday morning, July 8, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery, Wellington, at a later date. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 17, Wellington, will hold a service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday night. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Due to severe allergies of some family members, please refrain from wearing perfumes or scents during visiting hours and the funeral service. A special thanks to the staff of the Prince County Hospital.
