Passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Hospital on July 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, Albert Lawrence in his 90th year. He was in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18 for over 30 years and was Sergeant of Arms. Predeceased by his wife Ann, father Sowden Lawrence and mother Alice Mootrey. Leaving to mourn his very special friend Christine Conran, seven sons William (Carol), Francis (Madonna), Michael (Alice), Edward (Andrea), Gary (Rose Fleming), Gerald (Florence), Terry (Susan), three daughters Joan Johnson (Raymond), Margaret Newell (Billy), Marie Lawrence (Thomas Cummings), 31 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, step-sisters Elizabeth Peach and Ruth Smith, step-brother William Cable (Susan), daughter-in-law Geraldine, best friends Doogle and Sally Reid. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at Pendergast's Funeral Home, Bell Island. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday, from 12-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 2 pm. at St. Michael's Parish. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bell Island. Reception to follow at St. Michael Hall.
