WOOD, JOHN
John David Wood passed away suddenly at his home in Cumberland Bay, NB on July 5th, 2016. John was born in Amherst, NS on November 2, 1951 son of the late Basil and Mary (Chapman) Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Doreen (Sleep) Wood; four daughters, Alicia (Stephen) Ritchie of Halifax, NS, Amy (David) DiBenedetto of Calgary AB, Daphne Smith of Melbourne, Australia and Debbie May of Chipman, NB; four grandchildren, Sam, Zac, Chloe and Hannah; sister, Viva (Roger) Baird of New Maryland, NB, Carrie (Lyman) Coy of Fredericton, NB; brother, Forbes (Myrtle) Wood of Fredericton, NB; four nephews, Dean and Derrick Wood, Stephen Baird, Andrew Coy; cousins and many friends.

John began his working career at Maritime Beverages. He retired as manager of operations of NB Electric Power Commission at 45. His passion was his family and the love of Nascar racing.

The family will receive comfort at the Chipman Funeral Home Ltd. & Crematorium on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Christian Life Center, Chipman, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ken Young officiating. A reception will be held at the First Grand Lake Baptist Church, Cumberland Bay following the interment at the Cumberland Point Community Cemetery.

Donations in Memory of John may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the First Grand Lake Baptist Church or the charity of choice.
