Helen Budvarson, age 79, of Swift Current passed away July 2, 2016 at the Regina General Hospital. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2016 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. A Life Tribute was presented by Darryl Budvarson. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Helen is survived by her three children, son Darryl, daughters Sheena and Lana (Kevin); sister, Barb Pearl of Shaunavon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents David and Barbara Reid; husband W.L. (Bud) Budvarson; son Robert Budvarson and sisters Anne Moir and Belle Dixon. Helen was born on January 23, 1937 in Shaunavon, where she also attended school. She married W. L. (Bud) Budvarson in 1958 in Shaunavon. Helen worked for the Royal Bank in Shaunavon and several retail outlets before retiring in 2000 due to health reasons. She was a past member of the Oil Wives Club and Eagle Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. Helen was a bowler and won many trophies; she also did some knitting and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed have coffee with former co-workers from Zellers and loved to go to dances. She was a wonderful mother. Due to Dad's work in the oil patch, he was away a lot so she raised us alone quite a bit. Family was very important and she loved us very much. Helen also loved hearing any news about her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.
