MacLellan, Muriel Agnes – 84 of Truro passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 11, 2016 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Elmer “Pat” and Mary (Peterson) Brenton. She was the last surviving member of her family. Muriel went to school while raising her family and became a hairdresser, working at local salons until she went to Hillcrest Manor and worked as a hairdresser until her retirement. She loved tole painting and also did crocheting, knitting and needlepoint. She enjoyed bowling with the Seniors League of Bible Hill. Muriel loved all animals, cats, dogs, deer, etc. She especially loved being at her cottage in River John. Muriel will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, James; children, Larry (Tammy), Ronald, Mark (Toni Kennedy), Jane Hart, Kathy Burgess, Jamie (Douglas) Crockett, Kelly (Phil) Malinas; grandchildren, Ryan and Jamie Burgess, Nathan, Jason and Adam MacLellan, Tiffany and Rebecca MacLellan, Amanda (Scott) Verge; step grandsons, Jason and Matthew Crockett; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Peter; sisters, Alma, Sis and Marie. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
