Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at age 83, surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Margaret (Maggie) and Roland Kean, brother Lewellyn, sisters-in-law: Doreen and Patricia, son-in-law Randy Payne. Left with fond and loving memories his loving wife Gertrude of 59 years; his sons: Jim (Neta) and Terry (Juliette); daughter Catherine (Job); grandchildren: Lesley, Melissa (Kyle), Marsha (Mitchell),Jeff (Sarah) and Danny; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Ava and Colton; sisters: Blanche (Ambrose) and Catherine (Ralph); brothers: Ronald (Myrtle) and Allan; nieces and nephews: Dave (Monica), Bill (Joanne), Denise (Jason), Dennis, Rachael (Kingsley), Lesley-Ann (Sean), Fabian (Anna), Wade (Norma) and Michelle (Barry); also his best friends: Pat Dunphy and Captain Caleb Kean his first cousin. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Thursday, July 21st, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Cremation to follow. A Memorial service will be held from the Parish of the Ascension on Friday, July 22nd, at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
