CORPORON, Francis Calixte – Age 84 of Wedgeport, passed away on July 23rd, 2016 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Wedgeport on October 14th, 1931, he was a son of the late Bernard and Monique (Doucette) Corporon. Francis spent most of his life outdoors. From being on the water as a lobster fisherman, working for A.L. LeBlanc in the summer for 20 years, to in the yard, growing vegetables in his garden, and setting rabbit traps. Francis was always actively enjoying his land when he wasn’t busy gardening, he was woodworking or helping his family and friends, as he never shied away from hard work or lending a helping hand. He was an active member of the credit committee for the Credit Union in Wedgeport for 25 years. Francis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanne (Pothier) Corporon, Wedgeport; children, Cletus (Jean), New Minas; Gerarda (Wayne), Wedgeport; siblings, Sylvester, Wedgeport and Harvey, Richibucto, N.B.; grandchildren, Jeanette, Christine, Renee, Jessen and Tyler; a great grandchild expected in August. He was predeceased by his brothers, George, Arneau, Ferd and Raymond; sisters, Patronille Doucette, Jacqueline Pothier, Catherine LeBlanc and Alice in infancy. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskiklson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26th in the Wedgeport funeral home with prayers at 8:30 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albenie d’Entremont officiated. A burial was held after the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Cemetery Fund of a charity of ones choice.
