1940 - 2016
After a truly courageous battle with cancer Ina passed away at 75 years of age. She was born and grew up in Portugal Cove surrounded by friends and family. She spent 36 years of her life caring for the aged and infirmed until her retirement in 2000. A career she loved not only due to the patients she cared for but also her co-workers. Her nursing co-workers remained lifelong friends, travel companions and supported her until the end. Ina was predeceased by her mother and father Jessie and Stephen Hynes and her only sibling Leo Hynes and his son Rodney Hynes. She is survived by her devoted daughter Suzanne, cherished granddaughters Jessica (Andrew Spinney), Jillian (Bradley McDonald) and Ashley Dooley, sister-in-law Pauline Hynes, best and dearest friends Cathy and Doug Driscoll, a special young lady Abigail Lundrigan, caregiver Deanna Russell and her four legged companion Zoey. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday from 12-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, July 28th, 2016 at 10 a.m. from Holy Rosary Church, Portugal Cove. Inurnment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
