James (Jimmy) Godfery Hines of Ingonish Beach passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 26 at Buchanan Memorial Community Health Center in Neil's Harbour.
Son of James and Susan (Brewer) Hines, Jimmy was raised till the age of 5 by his grandmother, Minnie Hines and then cared for by his aunt and uncle, Winifred (Hines) and Isadore Donovan.
Jimmy considered his cousin; Donald Donovan (predeceased) a brother.
Jimmy worked as a groundskeeper tending the grass and flowers at the Keltic Lodge for most of his life. Jimmy had a child-like innocence that made him loved, young and fun, even at the age of 80.
He is survived by his companion, Anne Marie Hunt and sadly missed by family and friends.
There will be a gathering for condolences at St. Peter's Church in Ingonish on Friday morning, at 10 a.m. with the funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Lazarus Guria officiating.
Burial to follow in Parish Cemetery.
