Leo Duke passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Placentia Health Centre, at the age of 67 years. Preceded by parents Michael and Annie Duke, parents-in-law William and Jane Murray, brother-in-law Robert Murray, sisters-in-law Madeline Gambin and Dorothy Duke. Leaving to mourn wife of 43 years, Margaret Duke (Murray); son and best friend Jonathan (Vicky); pride and joy granddaughter Amaya; brothers Richard (Darlene), Thomas (Pauline), Charlie, and Joe (Marion); sisters Elizabeth (Ron), and Ann Marie (Rob); many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, especially nephew Robbie; as well as many co-workers at Marine Atlantic, whom he adored. Special thanks to the staff at Placentia Health Centre for their care and compassion over the duration of his illness. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 2nd from 12pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11am on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Fox Harbour. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
