Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, NL on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016, in her 96th year Dorothy N. Kennedy nee Nichols. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Janice, Ellen (David) Walters, Peter (Heather), Colin (Erlene) and Robin (Diane) her grandchildren Scott Kennedy (Khalida), Jason Kennedy, Susan Whitten (Craig), Jennifer Power (Gerry), Jennifer Walters (Jeremiah), Kristin Kenny and Amy Kennedy, her great-grandchildren Elden Kennedy, Mason and Aislynn Whitten and Dominic and Caleb Power, her sister-in-law Faith Thorne, and brother-in-law James Kennedy (Cathy). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended families and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Gerald, her parents George Arron Jr. and Catherine Nichols, and her brothers and sisters. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Thursday, August 4th, 2016, from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continuing on Friday, August 5th, 2016, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 6th, 2016, at 10:30 am, at St. Michael's & All Angels Anglican Church on Farm Road, Deer Lake, NL, with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Nichols Family Cemetery, Nicholsville. Donation's in Dorothy's memory can be made to St. Michael's & All Angels Memorial Fund or The Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
