JACK MACISAAC JACK MACISAAC

Born: August 24th, 1931

Passed in: GROVES POINT, Nova Scotia
Passed on: August 4th, 2016

Jack MacIsaac died August 4, 2016 while enjoying one of his favorite activities, swimming at Groves Point. Born August 24, 1931 he was the son of the late Lawrence Hugh and Anna (MacKinnon) MacIsaac. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Larry and Daniel. Jack was also predeceased by many loving aunts and uncles. He is survived by niece, Anna MacIsaac Bradshaw, Bedford, N. S. and nephews, Lawrence MacIsaac of Calgary, Daniel MacIsaac, PhD of Buffalo State University, Lloyd MacIsaac of Halifax, sister-in-law, Anne MacIsaac of New Brunswick and many cousins. Jackie had a special brotherly relationship with his Nicholson cousins, Gemma, Brenda, Flojean, Mary Lou and Martha. In his early working years, Jack was employed in Halifax as a salesman with the Dale Carnegie Association and as a car salesman. Later, he travelled extensively throughout the Atlantic Provinces as a sales representative for a Halifax dental firm. Jackie’s most enduring love was for his island home, Cape Breton. He knew every lake, glen, valley and shoreline. Jackie enjoyed telling stories of his Cape Breton adventures, which included canoeing, birding, tubing, skating and fishing. One year, Jack circled the Cabot Trail twelve times. Jack walked regularly at Dominion Beach where his presence will be missed. Until 3 years ago, Jack skated 3 times a week at various rinks and valued the friendships he made. The suddenness of his death is sharp and stinging, but as the hours pass and the tears and sadness lessen, knowing that Jackie passed from this earth while swimming on a sunny day in the waters of his beloved Cape Breton gives us peace. Forever in our hearts, rest in peace, Jackie. We will miss you.
Jack has been cremated. There will be a service of Christian burial in the chapel at TW Curry Parkview Chapel at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, Rev Bill Burke will officiate. The family would like to especially thank the people responsible for rescuing Jackie from the waters of Groves Point.Online Condolences may be made to his family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
