Dauphinee, Murray “Sonny”, age 68 of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at home. Born on September 29, 1947 in Windsor, Hants County. He was the son of Norma Dauphinee Eldridge and the late Murray St. Clair Dauphinee. Murray will be remembered as a past member of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Dept. Many years of his life was spent in the arena, whether playing himself, watching Garby and his friends or volunteering many hours, one as an executive member of the Junior B Windsor Royals hockey club. He also had a passion for softball, volunteering unlimited time coaching the ladies Blue Jays team. Murray spent his working life employed by NS Power, FA Tuckers and will be most remembered for the many years as a friendly face at Hants Community Hospital while working with Engineering Services. Survived by his mother; son Garby (Coldbrook, N S); daughters, Shira (Trevor) Bezanson-Orde (Airdrie, AB), Aimee (Kevin) Dauphinee (St. Albert, AB); sisters, Patricia Ripley (Martock, N S), Kim (Rob) Bland (New Glasgow, N S), foster sister, Barb Fretwell (Windsor N S); grandchildren, Erika, Cole, Cameron, Ben, Catie, Charlea, Blake; nieces and nephews, Terry (Kyla), Dawn-Marie (Ron), Nicolas (Michelle), Christopher (Mariam), Victoria (Andrew) and great nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Harry Eldridge and brother-in -law, Eric Ripley. A time of sharing of memories and reception was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, (902-798-2232) 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. A private family interment followed in the Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor, with the Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.
