Florence "Toots" Delores (Frizzell) May

Florence “Toots” Delores May (Frizzell) – 87, of Lower Onslow, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2016. Born October 13, 1928, in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Forman and Tina (Cantelo) Frizzell.

Toots enjoyed reading, cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays and spending time with her loved ones and furry friends. She had a kind heart and loved to laugh with friends and family. Toots was devoted to her family, was a wonderful wife, a caring sister and a loving mother and grandmother – she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Florence is survived by her son, Greg May (Carolyn Britten), her two grandchildren, Matthew May and Jessica May (Sean Kaulback), her brothers Marshall (Norma) Frizzell and Michael “Mick” (Susan) Frizzell and special daughter, Mariane May. As well as her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, James “Jimmy” May, sister, Miriam “Buck” House and brothers, Forman Jr. “Bo” Frizzell, Harold “Duck” Frizzell and Vernon Frizzell and John Frizzell in infancy.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bower and Fran for their care and compassion throughout the years and to the Oncology Clinic staff and the Palliative Care staff of the CEHHA for their kindness.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10th from 6-8pm with prayers at 7:45pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11th at 2pm in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince St., Truro. Rev. Jim O'Connor, officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Robie St., Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Toots' memory may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to Kane's Kitchen.
