The death occurred at The Garden Home, Charlottetown, on Sunday, August 7, 2016, of Verna Tardif (nee Doiron), wife of the late John L. Tardif, formerly of Mayfield, aged 85. Verna is survived by her sisters, Muriel Hanson, Alberta, Yvonne Gallant (Desmond Duffy), Charlottetown, and Margaret “Peggy” Reid (Francis), Charlottetown; sister-in-law, Inez Doiron, Stratford; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, John, Verna was predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Catherine (Buote) Doiron; sister, Alma Gallant (Augustine); and brothers, James, Wilfred, Alfred, Leo (Zepherina), Walter (Henrietta), Louis and Reginald; and brothers-in-law, Brian Hanson and Stanley Gallant. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. The CWL will hold a Prayer Service prior to the visitation at 5:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
