Paul Arthur Longmore
Paul Arthur age 72 of Swift Current, SK passed away on August 5, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home. The Interment Service will take place at a later date. Paul is survived by his son Davyn (Debbie) and their children Addison and Sydney of Swift Current; his daughter Kara and her son Aidan of Swift Current; brother Blaine (Lillian) Longmore of Calgary, AB; and his niece Lisa Longmore of Calgary. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas Hamilton and Kathleen Marie Longmore of Moose Jaw, SK. Paul attended St. Agnes Elementary and St. Louis Collegiate Schools in Moose Jaw. On January 10, 1970 he married Lucille Ann Eidt (of Flin Flon, MB) in Moose Jaw where they resided until 1976 when they moved to Swift Current when Paul was transferred with the Dairy Producers. After his retirement from the Dairy Producers in 2004 he began driving taxi for Derwood Hermanson with United Taxi where he drove from 2004 until 12 days prior to his passing. Paul was on the executive when they brought the Swift Current Indian Baseball Club back to Swift Current and in later years he did a lot of umpiring, he coached minor baseball through the 1980's and 1990's, he was a pitcher with the Moose Jaw Regals throughout the 1960's. In 2013 the Moose Jaw Regals were inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame which was one of Paul's proudest moments. Paul was a supporter of the Swift Current Indians and the Swift Current Broncos. He loved to watch sports, especially baseball and hockey. Paul was a single father for many years. He was involved in all of his kids sports and activities from coaching to making sure he attended every thing they were involved in. Paul was an extremely proud parent. Paul loved his grandkids and came to watch their sports whenever he could. He loved to talk baseball and was a huge Blue Jay's Baseball fan, and loved to tell stories of his "career" in baseball with the Regals. Paul was known for his sense of humor and could strike up any conversation with telling a joke. Dad will be forever loved and deeply missed.
