Jacob Patey passed away on July 9, 2016 at the age of 97 years. Jacob was born in Quirpon on April 26, 1919 to Moses and Clara Patey. It was there he met Beatrice Roberts and was married in 1944. Together they had 11 children. He leaves to mourn his sons Donald (Grace), and Enos (Karen); daughters Stella (Ralph), Elsie (Carl), Gladys (Truman), Nina (Gerald), Millie (Whyman), Pansy (Ross), and Triffie (Harrison); daughter-in-law Karen Patey; sister Blanche Strickland; brother Arch Patey; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Beatrice, sons Clayton and Baxter, sisters Louise and Una, brothers Gideon, Clarence and Lloyd, and son-in-law Ernest Patey. Visitation began at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home and then moved to Central United Church on Quirpon branch from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 12 at 2 p.m. with Major Bungay officiating. Interment followed in the Quirpon Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
